Amazon UK: Entrapped
Claire lives in Bristol, UK and has taken her inspiration from the people and the places she has seen over the years. She always has a book close at hand and devours Fantasy and Romance like some devour chocolate! Claire loves a happily ever after followed by lots of bloody sword-fighting and dangerous dragons! But when writing her debut novel Entrapped drew on her childhood ambition to be a musician and one of the instruments she played and still loves as a centre-point. Claire is also a passionate mental health advocate who lives with bipolar disorder and has done regular radio interviews and even some TV. She is also a huge heavy metal fan and can regularly be found banging her head at a concert or festival.
Wow!! Where to start? Well, I guess to start with, I’m not usually a fan of this sort of book, but I decided to take the plunge as I really liked the sound of the book. Boy! It did not disappoint.
Jess is living with depression and her current boyfriend, Ade, well, to put it mildly was a complete ass. I didn’t like one thing about him and he really got my back up. If I was to ever meet him I can quite honestly say he’s the sort of bloke that my knee would happily make contact with some certain crown jewels! Anyways, enough about him, back to Jess. The ass leaves her as he cannot cope with her depression, which is probably the best thing that could of happened to her.
Because of this it turns her into a strong, independent woman, yes she battles with her depression but she’s no longer letting it rule her. Jess is definitely my kind of heroine and I could quite easily see myself being friends with her.
I think her 2 best friends, Katie and Jay, made this book in all honesty. They helped her when she needed it most, but backed off when things were going ok.
Then along comes Luka, and my my my, he sounds sexy as hell, Italian ladies… need I say more? Olive skin, dark hair… yum yum and yum! But he is suffering from his own heartbreak, it takes him a while to trust Jess, but it happens (thank God!) I can’t think of a better couple.
I’m giving this book a 4/5 rating. Although it had sex scenes, it really wasn’t overpowering which made it the perfect read. It was a quick read for me as I just could not put it down. It was fantastically wrote and it all moved along at just the right pace. I’d most definitely recommend this to fellow readers.
