Today on my blog, Stephen J. Willis, author of the new book Spirits of the Dead has kindly answered my questions for my Interview spot on this tour.
Throughout the series, Christopher and his friends must overcome various despicable foes as they battle with riddles, codes, creatures of the night, deathly spectres and secret orders, as they go in search of Christopher’s missing brother and father.
Through the darkness of a starless night a tall shadowy figure rode silently along the long wet road. His black cloak flapped about him like the wings of a great vampire bat. Christopher Daring looked on from his bedroom window, both intrigue and suspicion forming the seed of a new adventure.
Once accompanied by his best friend Jason, they embark upon a ghostly trail into the unknown. They soon find themselves fighting for their lives as they become unexpectedly entwined with both the living and the dead.
Upon Jason becoming spiritually trapped and in danger of being lost to the clutches of death itself, Christopher takes up a quest to find a missing golden pocket watch, that should restore balance to the dark forces that surround them all. But, the twisted greed of the local ghostly priest and his demonic hound, Satan, have other ideas.
With an unusual mix of science, technology, cosmology, fantasy fiction and a dash of the spiritual self, the Christopher Daring Adventures is a thrilling ride into the impossible.

Here is my interview with Stephen.
1. Where did you find the inspiration for your book?
A. The main overall series came from a location where I used to walk my dog Brandy as a teenager. Other elements came from various genres and subject matters that I picked up through life.
2. If your book came with a theme song, what would it be and why?
A. Indiana Jones with a hit of X-files **side note: I couldn’t decide which theme song to put on my blog, so did both 😀 **
3. Who is your favourite character and why?
A. Hard to choose… I happen to like Jason Pierce, the best mate of the lead. He is loyal and does not take himself too seriously. He has various great qualities that I have had in various friend of my own over the years.
4. What is your favourite genre/author to read?
A. I like the Bryant & May detective series — I like the cleverness and unusual elements, weaved in with underlying intelligence.
5. Do you have any tips on the process of getting published.
A. Be prepared for a long haul, do not expect overnight success and you will be fine.
6. When you’re not writing, what other hobbies do you have?
A. I have an affinity for both electrical technical things — inventing a few things over the years, and always having some sort of college course on the go…
7. What are you working on at the moment?
A. I am working on a psychological drama. It is based upon a true event. 90% done with the first draft! Then it will be back to book 3 of the current Christopher Daring Adventure series.
Thank you so much to Stephen for taking the time to answer my questions.
