A brand new story from Gillian Godden!
A new life…
With their wretched life in Liverpool behind them, Julie and Ralph Gold head to London for their next big break. Julie’s had enough of slumming it, she’s ready to quit their life of crime and go legit.
The same old game…
But it seems their reputation had beat them to it, and the underworld is already bubbling with news of the their arrival. And as much as Julie tries to go straight, the more people underestimate them and treat them like fools. And there is only so much Julie can take…
One last trick.
So when they are offered one final big job, Julie knows they should say no. It’s risky and could cost them everything they have. But it could also be their last chance to make it big.
And when fools rush in, the Golds take the spoils.

I’m going to start this review by apologising one again to the author and also Rachel at Rachel’s Random Resources for not getting my review out on time and I don’t think I’ll ever stop apologising.
So without further adieu, here is the review for this explosive book. I love Ralph, I love Julie and I love the way they come together even more in this sequel to the first, however I will 100% assure you, it can be read as a standalone book. I also recommend reading the first one before reading this one as you’ll get more of the back story and the past of the newly wedded Ralph and Julie Gold. I don’t think there is a character in this book that a really dislike, apart from Paddy, Ralph’s long-time friend from Ireland, he’s a bit of a weasel.
They have both been through so much but the start of this book and going forward had me absolutely mesmerised and wanting to read more (granted for most of it I was laid up in bed asleep). Gillian Godden has come and shook up what I thought was gangland London, what I thought it was, and what Gillian says it is are very very different.
Now the main question, would I recommend this book? Yes I definitely would! It’s explosive and so in your face it’s brilliant, if only someone would buy the film rights so I can see Julie’s wedding dress in the flesh.
