Good Morning Everyone!,
Welcome to Monday 😦 On my blog today I have a review for the blog tour of Sherrie Low’s, Whisper To Me. There is a Giveaway so make sure you keep scrolling for the chance to win a kindle version of the book!
A new wife and a vengeful ghost. Not a good mix.
Letitia – Tish – Stanyer makes husband Theo promise never to remarry if she dies and he complies just to pacify her. She isn’t going to die.
She does – and he does remarry. Tish isn’t happy. Her spirit cannot rest with another woman in her domain, sampling the delights of her husband. Theo belongs to her – Sheena will have to go.
I am a divorced mum of two adult sons and nana to three grandchildren, soon to be four. I’ve always had a notion to write but didn’t get round to it seriously until I became ill with M.E in 1995 when I was 40 and was too ill to continue my job as a learning support assistant in a mainstream high school. I was devastated to have to resign from my job but writing saved my sanity. My first attempt was a memoir, Shadow Across the Sun which covered the loss of my mum to breast cancer two days before my 13th birthday. When the rejections began to flow in from traditional publishers and agencies I joined a creative writing class and learned to write fiction. Whisper to Me is my 10th novel. I have a strong belief in the afterlife due to events following my mum’s death so most of my stories have some form of supernatural aspect to them.

I absolutely love, love, love the cover for this book! Fuchsia’s have always been in gardens in my family for as long as I can remember and they do bring back a lot of memories. I still have them in my garden now! The cover is what drew me to the book as I genuinely love it. It doesn’t give anything away at all. I read the blurb and knew I had to read it as it sounded pretty awesome!
I didn’t realise that this book would actually be 2 or 3 stories in one. There is a little bit of a story from the supernatural side of it, but not much. You then have Saskia finding love and we also follow Tish’s husband Theo in his search for a new love. But how can a husband or wife ask their spouse not to remarry if they ever died!! For me that’s a bit morbid.
But we start with the character I really didn’t like much and she really grated on me as being quite whiney, that character is Sheena, she was lazy, dirty and did nothing for anyone, very, very selfish person. I’m surprised Theo married her. But she ended up leaving anyway… **insert happy dance***
I love the romance of Saskia and Richie, the way they found each other and just fell head over heels in love. How romantic and sigh worthy! I would like to know if Saskia’s friend, Alaina and Richie’s cousin, Christian, stayed together or not though as that seemed like it was a love at first sight relationship.
Then we come full circle to Theo, he manages to find proper love in the end and I really was routing for him to find someone. I love the way he and Donna click, they seem to be made for each other.
These stories were told beautifully and although I didn’t realise it would be this many stories in one book they all really worked well together. Not to mention the book actually spans about 2 years I believe, maybe even longer.
It definitely has a double thumbs up and a recommendation from me. If you haven’t read then do! If it’s not on your TBR pile/mountain… then add it, you will not be disappointed.
